Privacy Screen Doors - One Way Vision Doors - KNA Security

Privacy Screen Doors & Mesh Security Doors

Some families require a front door that provides security and privacy, we have doors that can do this.

There can be a fair amount of confusion on what a privacy screen door or security is.

We have 4 main types of doors, Grille, Alu-Gard, Invisi-Gard and Federation/Colonial doors.

Alu-Gard and Invisi-Gard are the newer mesh type doors. While these types of doors can reduce visibility into the home during the day, they are NOT privacy doors. The mesh on these doors are either a woven high tensile stainless steel wire or perforated aluminium sheet. The privacy from these doors rely solely on the lighting situation and cannot be called Privacy.

Grille and Federation/Colonial doors have a grille so require a fly-screen. There are several options for the fly-screens including Standard Fly-screen (fibre glass), Tuff-screen/Pet-mesh (a thick aluminium woven mesh), or PRIVACY MESH.

Below are 4  images of Alu-Gard and Invisi-Gard doors. Although some seem to provide more privacy than others it is only due to the individual lighting situation.

Privacy mesh, which sits behind a grille or barred door/screen is an aluminium sheet that has perforated holes on an angle (see below image). This provides an extremely effective reduction in visibility looking into the home. Privacy mesh can be cut with a good pair of scissors. Because of this privacy mesh mesh requires a grille for support and security.

So if you are look for Privacy Screen Doors or security door with privacy, you need a Grille door, or federation/Colonial door with the Privacy screen option.

Print Substrates – FAQs - Contra Vision

A. If this does occur then choose the Manual Assisted Load option. In this mode the pinch rollers in the printer are raised and you can load the material. The carriage will be off to one-side to allow you to use the material guides. These are necessary to be able to print the material properly, and reduce the risk of headstrikes. During loading, secure the material directly on the take up unit and set it to “always apply tension”. With this mode the material does not stick in the curing unit.

A: Contra Vision perforated window film is available at different levels of transparency, measured by the percentage of the total area that is represented by the perforated holes. As an example, Contra Vision 30% transparency white on black perforated window film comprises of 30% holes and 70% solid material. Sunlight is blocked by the solid material, so 30% transparency material blocks 70% of solar radiation so giving a 70% reduction in UV light and glare.

Many branded dilute-with-water windshield washer concentrates and ready-made windshield washer solutions now contain silicone-based chemicals that are designed to prevent road debris sticking to vehicles’ glass and to promote the beading of rain so that it blows off windshields and doesn’t smear when the wipers are used. This chemical additive builds into a bonded layer on anything it touches, including painted surfaces, and will also prevent applied self-adhesive materials from fully adhering. The layer is invisible, may be difficult to test for and detect, and must be removed before graphics are applied.

We recommend that in all cases where graphics are applied to side and rear vehicle glazing that the following cleaning regime is practiced:

1: Completely removed any obvious soiling with soap and water. Use dish washing soap. It does not contain waxes unlike many vehicle specific cleaning detergents.

2: When the glazing is dry, carefully clean the window again with a clean piece of tissue, kitchen paper is fine, that has been generously wetted with IPA (at least 70% and preferably higher) then dry with a second clean piece of kitchen paper.

3: Repeat 2 but paying particular attention to the edges of the glass.

4: Check for paper dust or adhering fibres before applying graphics as per further instructions relating to the material and its use.

A: Durability stated in our technical data sheets is for unprinted and untreated material correctly applied to an inert, vertical substrate subject to Mid-European weathering conditions. Some printing inks and drying or curing regimes may reduce the expected lifetime of the printed graphic. Please consult your ink manufacturer for guidance. Incorrect application methods, inadequate window cleaning and preparation and incompatible window treatments may reduce the expected lifetime of the applied material whether printed or unprinted, overlaminated or unlaminated. Mechanically sustained damage, chemical damage and UV-degradation to printed, unprinted, laminated or unlaminated material may also reduce expected durability. All perforated window films are especially vulnerable to damage along the edges and corners, which may lead to premature failure. Please refer to our technical data sheets page to find out the typical application life of a particular product.
