Coating Process Overview

The general coating process commences with the suspension of parts on an overhead monorail, power & free, or floor-mounted conveyor systems. A multi-stage pretreatment washer ensures parts are thoroughly cleaned and treated, making them well-prepared for the coating application. The efficiency of this step is crucial for meeting salt spray test standards.

Following pretreatment, a dry-off oven or high-velocity blow-off system is employed to eliminate any residual materials. Subsequently, powder or liquid booths, designed for optimal application techniques and color variations, provide the necessary environment for coating. Some facilities incorporate climate-controlled rooms to maintain ideal conditions during the paint application process.

Curing Process

Convection or infrared curing ovens are essential for curing the painted components, guided by the specific time and temperature recommendations from the paint suppliers. Once adequately cured, parts undergo a cooling period before they are finally removed from the painting line for either assembly or shipping.
